Syracuse, N.Y. -- A grocery store on Syracuse’s South Side plans to hand out $10 gift cards to 1,000 families to celebrate its first two years in business.
Price Rite at 611 South Ave. plans to distribute the gift cards (one per family) starting at 8 a.m. Friday (April 5).
Price Rite regional director John Corpora, district manager David Gaines and store manager Tim O’Leary will be on hand to greet customers.
Walter Dixie, executive director of Jubilee Homes of Syracuse, the store’s landlord, said the giveaway is a way for Price Rite to thank the community for its business.
Price Rite opened the store on April 2, 2017, in a commercial building it renovated at a cost of $5 million. The store, which is in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods, benefited from $2.4 million in government grants and tax exemptions.
Dixie said the gift cards come with no minimum purchase requirements.
